The Situation

MLT Transport, LLC, a commercial trucking fleet operating 78 tractors powered by Cummins engines, hauls dry freight and milk products across the United States. The company was looking to extend its oil drain intervals beyond the OEM-recommended limit of 30,000 miles. Having partnered with MLT Transport for more than 10 years, ExxonMobil and Cummins worked together to identify a solution that could help them achieve this goal.

The Solution

ExxonMobil engineers recommended MLT Transport use Mobil Delvac™ 1300 Super heavy-duty engine oil to help extend oil drain intervals. Working closely with Cummins through its OilGuard program, MLT Trucking validated the product's performance and was able to extend the oil drain intervals of its Cummins ISX15 engines to 60,000 miles. In close collaboration with ExxonMobil engineers, MLT Transport also leveraged the program to extend oil drain intervals for its Cummins X15 engines to nearly 80,000 miles using the same product.

The Results

After validating the results with Cummins, Mobil Delvac 1300 Super engine oil helped MLT Transport safely extend oil drain intervals to 80,000-plus miles. As a result, the company reports keeping their trucks on the road longer, helping reduce maintenance-related costs and increase productivity.
